The Pleasant Grove Independent School District this summer has named 3 Assistant Principals and a Director of Special Programs for the upcoming school year.
The district also named a Special Education Coordinator.

“The Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees approved three administrative personnel positions in their meeting on Tuesday, July 9. Ashley Barker was named Pleasant Grove High School Assistant Principal, Natalie Reeves was named Pleasant Grove Elementary School Assistant Principal, and Dr. Tina Antley was named Director of Special Programs. The Board of Trustees approved Ramon Hernandez for Pleasant Grove High School Assistant Principal in June.
Pleasant Grove High School Assistant Principal Ashley Barker has been with Pleasant Grove ISD for 11 years. Barker graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 2004. She earned her Master of Science in Education Administration in 2008 from Texas A&M University – Texarkana. Barker is currently working on her doctorate in Education Administration from Texas A&M University – Commerce and plans to propose her dissertation this fall. During her time at Pleasant Grove, Barker has taught 3rd grade, 5th grade, and held positions as Pleasant Grove Elementary and Intermediate School Assistant Principal. Her career began at New Boston ISD teaching 3rd and 4th grade. Barker is married to her husband, Chris, and they have one son, Easton.
Pleasant Grove High School Assistant Principal Ramon Hernandez joins the district after teaching and coaching for Mount Pleasant ISD for nine years. Hernandez attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education Administration. Hernandez and his wife, Angela, have three children: Joseline (11), Julian (4), and Camila (17 months).
Pleasant Grove Elementary School Assistant Principal Natalie Reeves has been with Pleasant Grove ISD for six years. Reeves holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University- Texarkana. After teaching 2nd and 3rd grade for Pleasant Grove for five years, Reeves was the Elementary Interventionist for one year. Natalie has been married to her husband, Malachi, for seven years, and they have one son, Barrett.
Director of Special Programs Dr. Tina Antley joins Pleasant Grove ISD from Conway, Arkansas where she was the District Special Education Supervisor. Antley previously held positions as elementary principal for eight years, elementary assistant principal for six years where she was named Arkansas Assisant Principal of the Year in 2009, and speech therapist. During her early career, Antley taught special education in Longview ISD and Redwater ISD. Antley tolds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Therapy and Special Education from University of Central Arkansas, a Master of Science in Speech Pathology and additional licensure hours for adminstration from University of Central Arkansas, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of Arkansas. Antley and her husband, Greg, have adult twins, Christina and Gregory. Christina and husband, Scott, live in Irving, TX and have a 10 month old son.
Gregory and wife, Katy, live in Little Rock, AR and are expecting twin boys in November.Summer Gibson has been named Pleasant Grove’s Special Education Coordinator. Gibson’s role will support the Director of Special Programs. Gibson brings fifteen years of experience in education to the position with three of those in Pleasant Grove ISD. Gibson received her Bachelor of Arts- Honors in Psychology at Texas Tech University, Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University, and Certification in Visual Impairments from Stephen F. Austin State University. Recent awards include 2018 Pleasant Grove High School Teacher of the Year, 2018 Pleasant Grove ISD Teacher of the Year, and the 2015 New Teacher Mentor Award from Texas A&M- Texarkana where she is currently an adjunct professor. Gibson and her husband, Justin, have three daughters: Brooklyn (14), Kennedy (11), and Piper (7).
