Ty Caffrey
2:00pm - 7:00pm

Ty Caffrey carved out a successful part-time career as a radio personality starting right here on KKOW in the early 2000’s.  A Pittsburg State University graduate and licensed social worker, Ty was looking for employment to help supplement her income, and it turned into a passionate hobby.  Starting at the basics running board operation and Sunday morning programming she quickly learned the ropes.  Ty left KKOW in 2004 when she married and Air Force Sergeant.  A military move took her to Mississippi, then New Mexico.  Ty missed the radio biz, and eagerly returned as a morning co-host on a top 40 station.  A few years later another military move brought her home to the mid-west and she was excited to join the team at Radio Disney.  Once again the military took her back to New Mexico where she returned to the the airwaves.  Ty’s music background went deeper as when she and her husband started a mobile DJ service.  Ty’s husband is finalizing his military career and Ty returned to Pittsburg and returned to KKOW.  When not on air you can find Ty working in the social work field, and managing her nonprofit organization.  In her spare time she enjoys playing her trumpet, softball and volleyball, scrapbooking, judging pageants, and spending time with friends and family.

In 2006, personally called 96.9 "The Kow" and asked if we'd be interested in becoming an affilliate.  Happily, we said "YES!"
